Whilst we do not provide US immigration services, we thought it is important this information is brought to the attention of our visa clients who may become Australian citizens in the future with the right to participate in the existing US visa program.
The existing waiver program, which allows Australians and citizens from 37 other countries a 90-day tourist visa to enter the United States by submitting biographical information online, may be suspended.
Visitors to the United States would have to sit for an in person interview before entering the US.
“The Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program and ensure compliance with section 222 of the INA (Immigration and Nationality Act), which requires that all individuals seeking a non-immigrant visa, undergo an in-person interview, subject to specific statutory exceptions,” the President Trump’s draft executive order states.
